Assistant Kitchen Manager
Quaker Steak & Lube is seeking an hourly line cook/AKM position in their Wheeling, WV location. The line cook prepares the food items for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
oReads recipes and produces products according to the procedures and plate presentations.
oCooks food according to guests' specifications, i.e. steaks, burgers, wings, etc
oGarnishes plates with appropriate items.
oPlaces finished products on the line cook shelf in an organized manner.
oStores all food products in specific sized pans, covers, and places in walk-in.
oProduces food within the ticket time requirements for each position.
oConstantly cleans and sanitizes the cook line as well as equipment, walls, floors, hoods, reach-ins, line coolers, etc.
oAssists the management team in controlling food cost by demonstrating concern for cost and inventory control.
oAble to work closely with other team members in the Back of the House and the Expediter.
oOperates various pieces of equipment.
oObserves the basic rules of kitchen safety, sanitation and back door safety.
oDemonstrates concern for kitchen cleanliness and personal hygiene.
oUses First in First out (FIFO) rules to ensure proper rotation.
oUtilize various cleaning chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets
oPromotes teamwork at all times. (i.e.: assisting in other areas of the kitchen, sweeping and mopping the floor, cleaning the coolers, organizing dry storage, frying wings, etc.)
oPerforms various tasks delegated by management including but not limited to cleanliness, sanitation and health regulations.
oEnsures our guests are receiving safe food products of the highest quality, freshness and consistency.
oMaintains kitchen surroundings, including floors, in the manner that meets Quaker Steak & Lube's standards of cleanliness, sanitation and health regulations.
Qualifications:
oStands/walks during entire shift.
oMust reach, bend, stoop and wipe.
oLifts up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
oAble to work well under pressure
oRaises objects from the floor, reaches for and pushes objects.
oReading skills are required.
o18
years old
oPrevious Supervisory experience preferred.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
